Using local maps and data gathered so far, key stakeholders took part in sessions to identify the key routes and problem areas for cycling and walking in Corby. This was to help inform the defining of a core walking zone and cycle network.
There were two sessions for this event - one held in person in the main council chambers at the Cube and the second online. The first attracted participants from a wide range of local groups and areas.
To ensure participants were well-informed in advance, we gave a briefing on the data gathered so far - such as cycle trip numbers, casualty blackspots, areas of deprivation, key employment areas and so on. Then we gained valuable local knowledge from participants on their views and understanding of what the key routes should be.
The afternoon session was the online option for those not able to attend in person.
The information gained from the two sessions is being processed to help define the key network walking and cycling routes.
